We need more Hank representation at WDW.
06.08.2025 01:14 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0And if it attracts more visitors and the aquarium gets more foot traffic, itβs great. But I agree with some of the commentary. I wish they had either made more of a nod to the past in naming the aquarium, or gone full IP and naming it the Marine Life Institute. And add an exhibit about octopuses.
06.08.2025 01:13 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Once you could enter through the exit hydrolators, the whole conceit of βtravelingβ to an underwater research center kind of fell apart. So itβs fine to have the marquee above the gift shop entrance to the aquarium, as so many other aquariums do. It doesnβt take anything away from the exhibits.
06.08.2025 01:10 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0The original experience was very much one way in, through the queue, the preshow movie, the actual movie, which led to the hydrolators, then board the sea cabs to the sea base. Once in the sea base you could stay as long as you wanted, and exit at the other set of hydrolators. No gift shop.

This concludes our broadcast day. We had a wonderful trip to Disneyland. Our first in 11 years. Heading back home tomorrow, and then back to work on Wednesday. California gave us perfect weather. Wish I could pack that in the suitcase and bring it with me. See ya real soon!

A mural depicting the Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow, with a depiction of the long lost Disneyland PeopleMover in the foreground. Bring it back!!!
This is a really cool piece of Disneyland history. A space suit worn by cast members in the early days of Tomorrowland.
A view from the second story of the Carousel of Progress building, looking out over Tomorrowland at Golden Hour. On the left is the Moonliner, now a weenie for Alien Pizza Planet. In the background is Space Mountain. Which I donβt ride this trip because I swore off Space Mountains until the open the new one in Japan (hopefully riding when visiting in 2028!)
Got to visit the DVC lounge atop the old Carousel of Progress building. A nice use of space, but they really need to put an attraction in here, and fully utilize the second floor of the space. All of Tomorrowland here needs an overhaul.

Had to ride Big Thunder mountain since itβs down at Disney World. Always a classic. Thanks Tony Baxter!

The Jungle Cruise has a crazy queue (goes upstairs and back down). This version seems shorter than the Disney World version, but still corny and funny.
29.07.2025 04:44 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Mickey and Minnieβs Runaway Railway is such a great fit for Toontown. But with the exception of the transition from the underwater scene to the city, I think the Disney World version is better (especially the transition out of Daisyβs studio to the factory). Just needs to be in a different place.
29.07.2025 04:38 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The Disneyland railroad is such a treat. The Grand Canyon diorama and the Primeval World scenes hold such nostalgia. That 1964 Worlds Fair gave Disneyland some great attractions.

I rode Indiana Jones twice today, and now I am genuinely excited for a version of this attraction to come to Disney World. I wish it was at Hollywood Studios as part of a mini Indy land, maybe including the Temple du Peril from Paris.

A series of figures, including a pirate standing behind a crate, a pirate seated on a crate, and a pig, from Pirates of the Caribbean. Non functional animatronics.
We watched the Walt Disney Story at the Main Street Opera House in Disneyland. It was a very moving presentation, and I have to admit, I teared up when I saw Walt come to life, speaking with his voice. The show and the AA figure are a very loving tribute to the man and his dream.

This version of Itβs a Small World is so much better than the one in Florida. Starting outside with the illusion that the boats are just going under the clock tower, and set apart from other parts of Fantasyland, it really is a classic ride. The new Sherman Bros lyric is integrated well.
