The Fern System holding up two prints, one of 'Smolder Shield' the other of 'Wake'. Most of their face below their eyes are obscured by the prints. The black dress they're wearing can be seen from under the prints that take up most of the image. 'Smolder Shield' features smears with grey and bronze ashes between layers of pastel red and yellow earth tones. From the top of the page reaching down are patches of yellow-green, red and purple. Towards the top right side of the page is a small patch of web-pattern black lines on blank white, and reaching out from the right side of the page is a distorted and spotted patch of blue where water was dropped onto the paper. On the left side of the page is a chaotic array of red and black lines resembling blood vessels or mycelium. Just to the right of this, stemming from densely clustered streaks of earth tones stretching downwards is egg-shaped patch of blank white paper with patterns of black-lines over it. Just below this is is a patch of blue, red, green, white and black colours stretching towards the right side of the page, pointed slightly downwards, resembling layers in sedimentary rock. "Wake" features a large back shape loosely resembling an anatomical heart in the lower centre of the page with a white circle in the middle and various 'limbs' reaching outward. The 'limbs' fade to shadows and towards the left side, melt into a web-like pattern. Above the 'heart' are two 'eyes'. The 'eye' to the viewer's left (on the 'face's' right) has no pupil but an x-like cross across the white, and various worm-like shapes reaching out from (or perhaps holding onto) the eye. The other 'eye' is mostly green with a red smear at the top, and several white 'pupils' of different sizes, with one apparently 'leaking' out the bottom of the eye. Several 'limbs' reach out from this eye as well. Around the background of the right side of the page are various shades of yellow, green, and some purple. Various colours decorate the top portion.

A mostly abstract charcoal and pencil drawing. From the right side emerging from the vertical centre and pointing down towards the very bottom centre of the page is an erect penis adorned with various messy lines around the shaft. Elegy: So many times I have woken up and thought that.

An abstract artwork of charcoal, graphite pencil, and rubbed ashes on paper. The centre of the piece features a large speckled tongue-like shape reaching downwards before curving towards the right side of the page and disappearing into a vortex that resembles a certain orifice. Touching the tongue on the side towards to the right of the page is a sawtooth pattern biting downward. Throughout the page are various sections of chaotically shaded scratches and pock-marks of black charcoal, alternating with sections of finely detailed ornate swirling and spiraling patterns of faint grey graphite pencil work. Above the tongue and emerging from the right side of the page are two sections where the two styles overlap with the ornate pencilwork are bordered, contained, and directed by broad circles, saw-tooth patterned walls, and loose unconstrained lines and shapes in no particular pattern. On the left side of the tongue is a wave of small dark charcoal squiggles like a flock of birds in the distance flowing downward, following the curve of the tongue until they dissolve into more chaotic and smudged and scribbly lines before giving way to the graphite pencilwork.

Draumr: It's ridiculous that even in trans communities people dictate 'The Right Way' to have a gender and aggressively try to erase diversity in gender identity and expression. Your gender is valid as fuck and you deserve better.

We then hugged each other and I felt a calm euphoria wash over me, and the forest faded into the sky.

I asked them what we should do now, and they said "I don't know, I'm lost now, I was looking for that mushroom to birth a new universe, one kinder than this one, but I feel so hopeless, yet at peace." I told them it's okay, we can exist in this universe, and a new one will happen when it's ready.
