I submitted my PhD thesis for examination last month at @edinclassics.bsky.social and I'm still recovering! What an amazing, fulfilling and challenging experience which was incredibly emotional at times. I'm grateful to everyone who helped me through it - supervisors, mentors, friends, family...

EP 266: The Devilβs MarriageΒ (Fortier)
Listen Here Watch Here THE DEVILβS MARRIAGE Once there was a pretty young girl, but she was very proud, and every time the young men came to court her, she found a pretext to send them away. One was too small, another was too tall, another had red hair; in short, she refused all her suitors. One day her mother said to her: β My daughter, you see that tall, tall tree in the middle of the river?

Anomalia and Ekstasis: Studying the emperor Julian with ADHD β Asterion | Celebrating Neurodiversity in Classics
I'm going on a podcast this weekend to discuss being a classicist with ADHD, and how it informs my study of the emperor Julian. So now I'm revisiting a piece I had written on the subject for the website Asterion a few years ago.

Sounds like the best kind of research! And thank you! Malta has been lovely - wish you were here with us. I'll be leaving back tomorrow and sadly missing the group outing to the museum. I'd love to hear more of your thoughts on historical/mythical films - you had some fantastic points.

People are talking about echo chambers again, so here's my model. π§΅
There are three groups of people.
1. People we agree with (Enjoy them.)
2. People we can have interesting disagreements with (Learn from them.)
3. Bad people with bad views (Mute or block them with gay abandon.)
