I was delivering Joseph C Miller Memorial Lecture at the University of Bonn, Germany yesterday. It was an honour to deliver this prestigious lecture which gave me a unique opportunity to share my research and experience on refugee studies in relation to my 'Subhuman' theory!

I was framed in front of the Bonn Center for Dependency and Slavery Studies (BCDSS) at the University of Bonn. The BCDSS is one of best research centers in Europe, and in the world, for modern slavery studies. It was truly honour to meeting some brilliant colleagues of the BCDSS.

Meeting my friends and colleagues Professor Dr. Alessandra and Professor Dr. Valeria at the Geneva Graduate Institute, Switzerland. It was a wonderful and academically meaningful time we spent together in Geneva. We discussed migration, and refugee issues in South Asia, Europe and Latin America.

The Department of Anthropology at CU, in collaboration with UCL, DU, and USW, organised an International Conference yesterday on the 8th Rohingya Genocide Remembrance Day 2025. With around 200 faculty members and 400 students attended the conference. It was a BIG academic show!

আজ বিশ্ব শরণার্থী দিবস। প্রতিবছর এ দিনে আমি একটি নিবন্ধ লিখি এবং ফি-বাৎসারিক থিমের সঙ্গে সম্পর্ক রেখে বাংলাদেশের রোহিঙ্গা শরণার্থী সমস্যাকে দেখার, বোঝার এবং অন্যকে বোঝাবার চেষ্টা করি। এ-বছরের বিশ্ব শরণার্থী দিবসের প্রতিপাদ্য হচ্ছে “শরণার্থীদের সাথে সংহতি”। কিন্তু রোহিঙ্গাদের সাথে সংহতি বলতে আদতে কী বোঝায়, সেটা এ নিবন্ধে সংক্ষেপে ব্যাখ্যা করার চেষ্টা করা হয়েছে। পড়ার আমন্ত্রণ।
