This isn't a closing election argument, it's Vidkun Quisling explaining why surrender is better than resistance.

If the dead don't want to be spoken of poorly then they should have been better people in life.

Panel 1: Ebenezer Scrooge leans out of a snowy window, shouting, β€œYOU THERE BOY! WHAT DAY IS IT?”

Panel 2: A small Muppet boy standing in the snow replies, β€œWHY TODAY? TODAY IS DICK CHENEY DIED DAY!”

Panel 3: Scrooge smiles joyfully from the window, saying, β€œTHEN I HAVEN’T MISSED IT!”

So many people were detained extrajudicially, were tortured, or died because of Dick Cheney. You can't get to the danger we're in now without everything he did. The weapons he helped forge are ones we need to take away from U.S. presidents forever.

Eh, if any fast food chain was going to do a steak, I’d rather it be Arby’s. It’s kinda on brand. Plus, can you imagine what a McDonald’s steak would look like?

People rightly recognize that Dems accept limits on their power when it comes to things like student loans, but not when it comes to sending arms to Israel when it’s against the law to arm people committing war crimes. Dems can break the rules when they want, it’s just never in our favor.

Oh, I'm fully saying that the yoots today shouldn't be able to do it. They're going bankrupt at 25 because of fucking DraftKings, that shit needs to be banned, period. Losing your money on a Vegas trip is fine in a one-shot, but having Vegas in your pocket is an awful idea.

Real men had to go to a bookie in the alley behind a bar to bet on the Giants. Embrace tradition, reject modernity.

Even the best case excuse is disqualifying ESPECIALLY IF you only care about winning. A guy who was so naive that he carried around a Nazi tattoo for years is going to get wrecked in the general. You gotta drop him even for expediency’s sake and find someone else ASAP and stop wasting time.

He knew it was a Nazi tattoo as far back as 2012. There’s already reporting on this. He comes from some degree of money. He could have gotten it covered/removed. Many artists will cover Nazi tattoos for free or at a discount. He did not do any of this, which is very bad. End of story. Drop him.

But according to a person who socialized with Platner when he was living in Washington, D.C., more than a decade ago, Platner had specifically acknowledged that the tattoo was a Totenkopf, the "death's head" symbol adopted by an infamous Nazi SS unit that guarded concentration camps in World War II.

"He said, 'Oh, this is my Totenkopf," the former acquaintance told Jewish Insider recently, speaking on the condition of anonymity to address a sensitive issue. "He said it in a cutesy little way."

The exchange occurred in 2012 at Tune Inn, a popular dive on Capitol Hill where Platner later worked as a bartender and was a frequent patron while he attended The George Washington University on the G.I. bill, according to the former acquaintance. He would often take his shirt off drinking with friends late at night at the bar, and on at least one occasion had stated he knew what the tattoo represented, the former acquaintance recalled.

Platner gave varying accounts of the image during this time, saying at one point he was aware it was a Totenkopf when he had first gotten the tattoo several years prior and at another time claiming he had not known, according to the former acquaintance.

The mixed accounts indicate that Platner has at least long been aware of the symbols's connection to Nazism, even as he said in the podcast interview he was not familiar with any such association when he chose to get the tattoo.

Yeah, fuck this guy & fuck his defenders. I’m sorry, he clearly knew what it was, and he wasn’t shy about it to the point of taking his shirt off on the reg while drunk. If he knew the name of it, he could have/should have googled it, been horrified, and got it removed asap. He didn’t. End of story

I could believe that he got it not knowing what it was. Not everyone is up on Nazi symbology. The fact that he didn’t get rid of it the second he found out is telling. If I suddenly realized I had an SS emblem on my body, I’d miss rent in order to pay for the removal/coverup.

STEREOGUM: People my age, we talk about how we were lucky that we didn’t have social media growing up, and there’s no record of all the dumb shit we said and did. You didn’t have social media, but everything you said and did in those years is on record, and you’ve got to live with it now. That’s tough.

VIOLENT J: And the amount of gay Juggalos out there is really surprising. I think about them doing their research and getting the old records, getting excited about it, and getting their hearts broke or something, you know? I tell my daughter, β€œFor the rest of your life, when your friends ask why your dad said that, say it’s because your dad was a fool. Don’t defend me. Say I was a fool then, but I’m not now.” There’s no excuse. I was going with the flow, and that’s the very thing we preach against β€” being a sheep. And that’s what I was doing.
