And with that, our October Horror Movie Challenge is done for another year. Whew!

Thanks for following along for those who did. And now as a little denouement on the year, we close out with what’s become kind of an end of Halloween tradition to celebrate.

Yeah the first movie was about ten years after the manga. I’ve never read them though. Enigma of Amigara Fault and Uzumaki were my entry point to Ito.

There’s been a decent consistent storyline through them. They’re all found footage/documentary style except this newest (and apparently final) one which is done like a standard movie

Oops! Minor error! Turns out we didn’t watch the one before this which explains why I was a bit confused at the first few minutes. So we’re going to start our ACTUAL number 30 now then and return to the above one next.

We’re settled in for the night with our candy and fast food to finish out the month in proper fat kid style.

First up? What is (I believe?) supposed to be the final installment of this franchise we started watching a couple years back.

29) Heretic (2024 - HBO Max)

28) One Missed Call (2003 - Shudder)

Forgot to post this yesterday. The next stop at j-horror station was one I could have sworn I had seen but turns out I hadn’t.

27) Noroi: The Curse (2005 - Shudder)

I think we’re gonna keep the J-Horror train going today.

I’ve never actually gotten around to watching this one before or reading the Junji Ito manga it’s based on either. Time to fix that.

This also marks the first time this year we’re getting ahead of the curve!

26) Tomie (1998 - Shudder)

Forgot to post this one last night. We kept this franchise going with the second installment.

19) Poltergeist 2: The Other Side (1986 - Tubi)

Not gonna lie, watching this clown eat shit twice made my weekend. The dildo of consequences rarely arrives lubed and all that.

We watched the 2015 remake of this classic a year or so back and I was already yearning for a rewatch of the original’s sequel. Turns out the original three are on streaming so why not rewatch the first two and finally watch the third, which I hadn’t seen?

17) Silent Night, Deadly Night (1984 - Pluto TV)

You gotta just block these accounts without interacting. They're doing this the night before No Kings so they can selectively grab quote posts and replies about how nasty people are being. It's extremely transparent. Just block and move on.

So so many things to do today and not enough time 😩

The weekend needs to be like four days at this point to allow you time to handle all the shit you need to do, I swear.
