This is what I mean when I describe the Trump administration is short-sighted. We've killed Khamenei, but we aren't backing anybody else to take over, we're not supporting any resistance, all we've done is take out a figurehead. The next regime could be even worse.

As a reminder, Khamenei's predcessor, the Ayatollah Khomeini, was installed by a short-sighted American administration, which led directly to the current regime there today. Taking out the current Ayatollah simply creates a power vacuum over which we have zero control.

Like everything else this regime does, this attack on Iran is insanely short-sighted. I don't believe Israel would have tried this without the full support of the U.S.. Now that Khamenei is dead, that doesn't mean that Iran will return to how it was in the 70s.

Better the devil you know sometimes.
