I always assumed that research opportunities would exist here, and to see them disappear entirely because of this administration is honestly so shocking and so saddening. I'm still looking to return to work but am so concerned about the long term effect this will have on science as a whole

Was brave yesterday and actually looked online for postdoc positions at Berkeley and Stanford yesterday, after suspecting they would be all dried up. But to actually see no postings anywhere broke my heart... because I've been waiting so long to return to academia after being away.

Saw this post of engineering students in the 1st and 5th year of their program on Instagram yesterday and couldn't help but notice how much more worn around the edges they seemed in the "after" pictures. Feeling like I blossomed during my engineering PhD in comparison 😂
