Trump's government has protected and pardoned criminals while violating the human and civil rights of countless innocents and alienating our allies across the globe. Congress and SCOTUS must act to rein this President in.

The people have arisen in protest at unprecedented levels. We are doing our part. Now do yours. The Trump administration has undermined our democracy and the rule of law and drained our public resources while enriching Trump's family members, friends, business partners, and fellow billionaires.

The only important question tonight is what are Congress and SCOTUS going to do about this President and his attacks on our values, democracy and the American people? What will they do to restore law and order, and hold criminals accountable once again?

Governor not ruling out cuts to Stay NJ tax relief program, treasurer says β€’ New Jersey Monitor Cuts to Stay NJ are on the table as Gov. Mikie Sherrill weighs methods to close New Jersey's $1.5 billion structural deficit.

StayNJ must work for the seniors who need it most. For older adults living on fixed and very limited incomes, every dollar matters. This program should be revamped and implemented with them at the center.

Columbia, Northfield banks will merge. Will NJ branches survive? The merger would allow Fair Lawn-based Columbia to be the third largest regional bank headquartered in New Jersey.

Bank mergers can mean less access for the people who need it most: seniors, low-income families, and people of color. As federal oversight of bank mergers weakens, we urge a strong Community Benefits Agreement that puts NJ’s underserved communities first.

Gov. Sherrill’s good government pledge means standing up to corporate interests β€’ New Jersey Monitor Gov. Mikie Sherrill must stand up to the corporate interests that too often control party politics in our state, Dena Mottola Jaborska writes.

As Gov. Mikie Sherrill begins her term, we’re hopeful she’ll keep her promise to transparency & accountability by rejecting backroom deals, limiting corporate influence, putting everyday families first, & opening the Statehouse to the people it’s meant to serve. newjerseymonitor.com/2026/02/03/g...

Protecting our neighbors, families, and friends takes action at every level of government. Every county, every municipality, and every leader has a role to play in standing up for immigrant communities and defending our constitutional rights.

Sherrill keeps her promise to take action against N.J.’s soaring electric rates. But is it enough? The new governor called for a pause on rate increases, more solar power and a nuclear task force to expand generation.

What the state needs is alternate ways to finance new generation, such as public-private partnerships. Traditional regulatory financing policies that saddle up-front costs on ratepayers have become unaffordable and unsustainable. - Dena Mottola Jaborska
