I see grocery/takeout shaming discourse going around again, so this is your periodic historian reminder that cooking from scratch daily while working has never been sustainable, and for millennia everyone either relied on takeout & restaurants or ate in huge households w/ big dorm-like group dining.

Most of the internet used to be like this. This is actually the default, it took companies enclosing the internet and adding weird, soul-killing incentives to make people behave the way they do now. In a way, there is truly nothing special about Wikipedia except that it survived longer.

Everyone thinks writers dream about adventures and wild, inspiring fantasies, when really we just dream about editing and rewrites.

Reminds me of how authorities have intervened to segregate sports that want to remain integrated (roller derby) or to punish parents of trans kids who support their children's transitions.

When trans-supportive policies, people, and organizations exist, they endure abuse, to make an example.

I will, in fact, be even blunter here:

Trans women are not trying to say transmisogyny is "the worst oppression". We gave up on trying to stress the severity of it a long time ago.

We are, at this point, trying to communicate that we *are oppressed at all*, to people who refuse to believe it.

In this absurdist satire, Talia Bhatt and Beth Leigh-Ann construct a bizarre, alternate universe where trans women are materially incentivized to deny being women at all, and consequently destroy their mental well-being and relationships with others in the process!
