Questions about the Marokopa children as Tom Phillips killed after four-year search For years, he was a ghost - slipping in and out of the bush, seen only in grainy footage. Now Tom Phillips is dead. What happened and where are his children?

But the thing is, you don't have to speculate. You can simply read the facts of the case and leave it at that. www.rnz.co.nz/news/nationa...

A group photo of the researchers and scientists involved in New Zealand's covid response.

When the Covid-19 pandemic hit the world, a group of scientists and researchers in Aotearoa New Zealand dropped everything they were doing and rolled up their sleeves to help the response. This response ultimately saved around 20,000 lives 🧪 🧵

It's that time again! After a 4 year wait, we're predicting a big #kakapo breeding season this coming summer (early 2026). It's an exciting opportunity for us to reduce the intensity of our #conservation management methods. Read more here: blog.doc.govt.nz/2025/06/27/k... #parrots #birds

Youth MPs told to remove criticisms of government from speeches Changes had been made to at least one speech.

In a past life under the John Key government, I worked on Youth Parliament. In no way were the youth MPs instructed to refrain from criticising the government; that's literally what they're there to do (if they want to).

A talk with David Seymour (and why we need to oppose the Regulatory Standards Bill) | Kate Frykberg Early yesterday morning I was at Auckland airport’s Koru lounge, and I saw that our new Deputy Prime Minister, David Seymour, was sitting nearby. On impulse, I went over, shook his hand, and said that...

If I posted "Everybody send me a dollar, and I will cure cancer!" nobody would give a shit, let alone repeat it.
But if David Seymour did the same, it would be trumpeted from every news site in the country, and then the world.

Why repeat his lies?
Why carry his water?

This sums Seymour up really. He is never here for a good faith discussion, but just to lecture on his flawed ideology.

It's a shame the media at large, especially the mainstream political journalists, don't push back on him more. That's how his bullshit gains traction.

Also I can't believe I have to say this but... road cones are there to protect vulnerable road workers as cars zoom past frequently well over the temporary speed limits? And reducing them around active works increases worker risk? I would hope at least some of the media coverage points that out.

A drag performer with a voluminous pink wig and dramatic makeup stands on stage in a bookstore, speaking into a microphone while holding a phone. They wear a flowing cape-like dress with a pink floral pattern, paired with bright pink leggings and black heeled boots. The background features bookshelves filled with colorful crime fiction novels, with visible signs indicating the genre. The performer has an expressive stance, gesturing with one hand while reading from their phone.

Arena Williams: A Prime Minister who sneers at struggling families has no idea what life is really like OPINION: The money spent on charter schools is $153 million. They handed $216 million to tobacco companies. Either would fully fund school lunches and then some.

Mocking struggling families isn't leadership. Good on for Arena Williams calling it out in this powerful piece. #nzpol www.stuff.co.nz/politics/360...

Remember kids, if you are at the protest today you have to keep up your literacy and numeracy to keep the Act Party happy - so count how many people at the protest, and record all the signs you see, remember to correct spelling and grammar if necessary.

We’ve had possibly our busiest morning ever on the Wellington rail network for the Hīkoi, with 40,000 people through the railway station. Crowd likely at least 50,000, probably more. If you’re heading out of town by train today, make a plan now because trains will only be running until 8:30pm.
