Indeed but he’ll have allowed clubs to have a closer look at what he has done well and where there is coachable potential in the context of the premier league. I imagine you get more valuable data that way than if they’re banging them in in Holland or Portugal or wherever.

I don’t think we’ll go for Hojlund simply because his first touch is so poor he’ll mean too many counters break down.

I agree about Murphy but also, if Howe can get someone like him purring for a season, he can get anyone ticking 😂

Ah man, don’t worry about it. I like the debate. As much as I love and adore NUFC, there are so many bigger things in this world that cause me more trouble. I still get mightily pissed off and grumpy when things go wrong but ultimately I’ll always try and find some positives and be hopeful.

If we could spend indiscriminately, I’d be all over every potential player but hopping back to a different argument we can’t which is probably why we look for that premier league proven player first.
I’d love some of these high potential young ‘uns too but I also think Howe can improve others.

I mean, he’s hit double figures twice at a team that’s hardly been settled and stable, a team that finished us above us last season too so he must have some redeeming features.

I imagine Howe was expecting Mitchell to be driving a lot of it. His departure has clearly had some pretty big repercussions behind the scenes. Absolute mess of a summer. Just hoping they get a few in before the window closes now.

Clubs will also deal with the player’s agent. That way it’s not tapping up as direct contact with the player doesn’t happen.

This is why they’re trying to appoint his mate as DoF, I reckon.
