3️⃣The good news is we CAN fix this:

👛£850m funding for SEN would support 500,000 children & pay for itself in 5 years
🧑‍⚖️Legislation so that we know where - and whether - every child is being educated
🏫Professional development for school leaders to empower every school to become truly inclusive

2️⃣The impact: School absence = lower exam results, reduced job prospects & lost parental income. Each exclusion costs the state an extra £170,000. This is in addition to the very real social and emotional impact on the children themselves.

The crisis of lost learning should worry us all.

1️⃣ There is an alarming number of children missing out on the educational & social opportunities of school & some of them disappear entirely:

📈67% increase in lost learning days since the pandemic
📈10 x more children are invisibly moved for every official exclusion
