Gosh, another emotional get together!

Thank you to my wonderful friends and colleagues in the Upper Rhymney Valley this morning for your kind words, friendship and solidarity, the beautiful cake and the House of Lords gin!!

This evening I had the great privilege of attending a reception hosted by His Majesty the King at Windsor Castle to celebrate and recognise the incredible work of carers, both professional and unpaid, across the UK.

I just want to add my own personal thanks to our amazing carers.

Lovely to visit Abergele to see the Communication Boards in the local park to help children and families with speech and language communication.

Thanks to Bash and his Mum, Rennie, who showed me how this has helped them.

A statement from First Minister of Wales

A significant milestone in Welsh Government’s Flying Start childcare as Swansea council offer places to all 2 year olds.

Thanks to Councillors who have worked in partnership with, and to staff and children at the Centre who provide and benefit from such a fantastic facility.

Pleased to speak at Carers Trust Wales event at the Senedd calling for action to #endcarerpoverty.

I was able to set out how Welsh Government is helping to support unpaid carers through our Carers Support Fund, to appreciate the amazing contribution unpaid carers make to our social care system.

It should be clear to everyone now that the problem was never with immigrants or asylum seekers but with billionaires and oligarchs 🪙 The whole scapegoating of foreigners was just a scam by the technofascists and Epstein-class to keep us looking the other way. And grifters like Farage were in on it!

Some recent announcements by the Welsh Government.

Indeed and has drawn much criticism for being so - public funds being used for those who don’t need it. Ours is specifically targeted to those most in need, but it will be evaluated and if there is a case and resources to widen it, we will.

Tonight, Labour MPs voted to scrap the two child limit – a move that puts us on course to drive the biggest reduction of child poverty in a single Parliament.

The Tories and Reform UK voted against it.

Don’t let anyone tell you voting Labour doesn’t make a difference 🌹

They did and we learned much from that. We piloted in 2020
and then COVID hit and so implementation was delayed. Delighted we are doing it now though.
