This is what her chest looked like. PE doesn’t allow room fof her heart & lungs as she grows. The brace corrects her bones while she is you & the bones are still pliable.

Renee wore her fancy dress to the vet. It helps cover the brace so she doesn’t attempt to groom or pick at it.

Renee is doing well.
Next wk she may require sedation to adjust the brace. bigger & she’ll get her vaccine booster as well. Her condition is called pectus excavatum. A week & a half ago she had surgery to place a brace to correct her chest bones. She will wear this for 4-8 weeks w/ weekly checkups.

We’re on our way home! She’s still pretty mad about the brace, but she’s doing well.

We raised $1,953 and her total bill was roughly $2,200. She’ll have her follow up in 2 weeks.
I cannot begin to tell you how much we appreciate each and every every single donation. YOU all saved her life.

Just got word Renee made it through surgery. Apparently she’s quite pissed off about the brace, but otherwise doing well. I pick her up tomorrow.

Renee is a walking miracle. She has pectus evacatum. Her left lung is collapsed. Her right lung is doing all the heavy lifting. This needs to be fixed ASAP or her chest will compress her heart. Dr Yard took one look at her xrays & said,“ I can do her surgery Wed.”

We’ve reached the low end of our goal. Renee has pectus excavatum. Her sternum/rib cage is misshapen, leading to lack of space for the heart/lungs to grow.
She sees the vet on the 27th to develop a care plan. Initial est $600 - 1k.

Helped a neighbor spay his cat + oops litter, ended up w/ a kitten. Named her Renee after my sister who died. She has pectus excavatum & needs to see a vet. PE is life threatening because it blocks room for the heart/lungs to grow.

A lot of people currently calling for civility saw Kirk's violence as harmless because they weren't the primary target. The fact that being lower on the list is seen as safety is wild to me.
