Not necessarily. Amazon is just the easiest place, I think, for indie authors to get their footing — the KU makes it a little easier to get discovered maybe. Sometimes indie authors don’t want to or can’t invest in editors and things, even though they should cause it’s part of the process…

This absolutely! Unfortunately a lot of indie authors don't always reach out to editors or sensitivity readers. I see a lot with books that use Spanish and end up mixing Spanish slang from different Spanish-speaking countries. Drives me nuts.

If it happens once, I'd ignore it as a simple typo/missed error. If it's constant...I'd find them on socials and shoot a quick polite message: "Just wanted to make you aware of the correct romanization of ㅁ!" and maybe follow it up with something you're enjoying about the book to soften the blow.

I feel like the entire Kim line should be eggplants for obvious reasons...

I mean…he does belong there though…
