Many schools didn't teach writing in any decent way, but somehow expected kids to do it well.

My concern is the knee jerk reaction to solve problems created by technology with more technology. And many studies show that writing longhand is good for critical thinking.

What about those with difficulty typing? You can't come up with a solution that works for everyone. And why not prepare and train the students to write essays? It worked for a long time.

Making the students write longhand has many benefits beside precluding using AI. This solution costs almost nothing to implement and doesn't require special software.

Tina Clarke wants to know who betrayed her unit and why. And why was she kicked out of the army? She wants answers, her team deserves them, and the skill set they gave her is assassination.
No wonder they are afraid.

I'm working with my good friend J. Lee Porter on a brand new series of action/adventure stories that take place in SE Asia in the period of WWII. Not war stories, but Noir stories in that era. We are mapping them out now.

He had to be hearing things. Kafka was dead.

It's time for the last bite of the day and we're serving up some surreal flash fiction. Grab a blanket or turn up the heat. This one might give you a little shiver. It's "The Past Moves With You" by @edteja.bsky.social and it's waiting for you in issue 81!

Wednesday already? Sureal isn’t it? Well enjoy a little more of the off kilter with β€œThe Past Moves With You” by Ed Teja @edteja.bsky.social , time is a construct we know, but it’s almost time to read more of this the 81st edition out Sunday 1/26.
