That's gonna be all, saw Solo Leveling appearing in my yt recommended and it made me rethink about the time wasted reading this manwha. Interacting with some Solo Leveling fans really helped me notice how it was ultimately a very incel-coded power fantasy, however.

What Solo Leveling ultimately reminds me of is just... those dogshit bully revenge manwhas. It is quite literally cut from the same cloth. Which explains why the inceldom clings so much onto Solo Leveling : it fits their "bottom to strongest that kills anyone he dislikes" fetish.

And yes, Kirito isn't alone. There is still undercharacterization in SAO, but that's still better than literally none at all.

So yeah. We are at a point where SAO somehow became a bar to get over instead of being just the bottom example.

They're literally irrelevant. The world resolves only around Jin-Woo, and every other character is irrelevant. Battle animes have the grace of letting other characters develop. Goku isn't alone. Luffy isn't alone. Ichigo isn't alone. Fucking Saitama isn't alone lmao hell he barely is the protag

actually makes the whole point of the anime even better. It is absurdly fast, keyjigglingly fast, yet it has essence in it. It TRIES something.

On the opposite side, you have incessant aurafarming with no characters, it is hard to name any character that isn't Jin-Woo or Beru.

On the "short-form content of anime", there are literal 3 min animes such as fucking Teekyuu that feels better because it has at least the decency to be funny, and the whole gag is that a season is the length of a regular anime and making an anime from a 4koma tends to be silly, thus the format

Jin-Woo has literally no personality. He is never allowed time to develop one, besides that one part where he is shown to be as bad as the people he hates (how he treats his pet twink and how he uses his position for extortion).

He isn't inspiring. He isn't a "rags to riches" character.

Jin-woo who mostly is, well, solo leveling. He hardly ever has to save anyone, he doesn't have any companionship, every character gets sent to the void once they're done with, EVEN HIS LOVE INTERESTS. HE DOESNT EVEN INTERACT WITH THEM. THEN WE ARE SUPPOSED TO BELIEVE HE HAD A ROMANCE THEN A SON.
