Well, yes, but also you can’t have 3 of the same skill in a routine. Because she added the extra backhand spring in her acro (not a walkover), the backhand spring going into her dismount wouldn’t have been counted as a skill. She needed that for bonus as well score was corrected to 9.65ish

I’m at the Utah round 2 session 2 regional and Utah is looking loose. Carly busted a move in a dance circle during warmups

Just watching auburn vs Oklahoma. I’ve finally figured out what irks me about OU’s floor — they push all tumbling early in the routine and then leave 30-40 seconds of only choreo at the end. I’m over it by that point in each routine 🤷🏼‍♀️

I do understand how NQS rankings work, but it is kinda insane how Utah had the biggest beam meltdown of the team’s existence and is still number 1 in the country

My most under-RATED (not necessarily under-scored) team is Arkansas. They present with much better confidence than teams ranked above them and have obviously been the upset team this season. They’ve had some rough rotations here and there, but I don’t think their consistency is being reflected

My most over-scored team in the top 25 this year is UCLA 😬 I think their floor scoring has been egregiously loose in multiple meets. They have also had key bars and vaults with multiple form errors score the same as other teams that have great form/landings.

Two bar routines in and one of them is already an outrageous over score for Florida. Love Riley’s bars but that wasn’t almost a 9.9

Ugh the commentator saying that Ana’s series had a “great connection” is false. Beautiful routine though as always

This matches what Carly said in a Big 12 radio interview today, which surprised me when I heard her say it. Whether or not she makes it back this season, it’s good to hear she’s progressing and healing!

I can’t wait until we get to see Zoe Johnson vault for Utah. Either in exhibition or in the line up

With Ashley Glynn’s routine I think she’s getting leg separation off the bar and in the back swing in the Maloney, staggered feet on the dismount landing, and maybe flexed feet snapping into the stalders. If it’s not the stalders it could be dismount precision. Sometimes the rotation seems forced

Utah’s bars are looking very clean and tons of fantastic handstand positions. Judges are definitely taking deductions tonight.

And we have to talk about the floor music situation. I’m gonna need pick one song and stick to it. Maybe two. And stop paying a student to mix the music. I can’t imagine that floor songs could get worse

I wasn’t necessarily scoring while watching, but mentally I had Utah closer to a 49.3 on every event. But from my angle I couldn’t find the deduction in Makenna’s vault. I really wanna go back and watch that one. And interestingly the only routine I would have scored higher was Gantner’s beam

All teams were over scored. Some routines to the point that you would not believe there was a new judging evaluation system.

Thoughts after the Best Of Utah meet:
All teams surprised me by looking really fit. There were errors, don’t get me wrong, but I think this was the first year that I was wowed by form, skills, amplitude by ALL teams

I’m going to the Best of Utah meet today and am so excited to see Utah. I know they have some physical/mental injuries right now, but I see a spark in the team that shows they are great in spite of the challenges. Utah is always gritty in comps that matter. We’ll see it build, I think starting today
