Also - I've scrobbled tracks from GRfGP almost 10k times now. That's the entire album, 1000 times! And yet, I'm still not tired. Magical band, I tell you.

And of course thanks to the band for being patient about my abnormally obsessive tendencies and giving me the information they have- unfortunately your Wikipedia page is still yet to be written, as social media DMs and e-mails don't typically count as valid sources. Sorry!

If I hadn't sent one Tumblr message almost exactly a year ago I wouldn't have met the person I consider to be my absolute best friend. I would not have sent that message if I had not listened to Pretty & Nice the year before, because that showed me I Can reach out and it Can be a positive thing

ALL OF THIS TO SAY this incredible and unfairly unknown band who stopped playing together 11 years ago have had such a profound positive effect on my life and without them I would probably be a completely different person. I wouldn't dare to reach out to people at all, which would suck!

Everyone listen to Golden Rules for Golden People because it is one of the best records of the early 2010s and I don't say that lightly because the 2010s are probably where most of my favourite music falls. (even just 2013 has an insane amount of my Favourite albums:

Anyway yes I'm sure this thread has a total audience of 2 people but this band holds a large amount of significance to me (obviously) and since I'm relistening to Golden Rules for Golden People it's on my mind. One of these days I'll write another Massive Artifact post about it. Promise!

Funnily enough the thing that propelled me into getting super into them was trying to figure out who was who- even though it's been on the TVTropes page since before I spruced it up LOL

And then I got into the album a bit further, I got super into the song Critters for example. I didn't actually get Super Autistic instantly, it took... yeah, about 5-6 months of passively listening to and enjoying the album before I got super into the band

I was at school and I remember I was very upset because I had basically realised on the day that I actually didn't know anyone in my class at all. I was outside of the classroom crying, and all I remember is the comfortable repetitive nature of Money Music calming me down enough to Not cry, lol

I was suggested the album by a friend of mine in early 2023, and I listened to it as basically the last album of a long list she had meticulously put together (which also included SCRAMBLES by BTMI and Breakfast With Girls by sElf, two other important records for me) (though obv not as important)

I rarely ever commemorate it on the day, I think, but every January comes the time when I first listened to Golden Rules for Golden People (January 4th, specifically), and that was (obviously) a super important moment in my life, but I don't exactly recall it as a positive, necessarily
