This is lovely!
Strongly reminds me of the sweet little Welsh church at Pontfaen next to the house a group of us use for fieldwork stays. But could be any one of so so many similar gems.

I’m going to keep sharing this PSA: although the MMR is usually given at 12 and 18 months, your baby can get a first dose as early as 6 months. They will still need the other two doses, because immunity doesn’t stick at that age, and insurance may not cover it. But it’s protection.

A photograph I took quite early on New Year's Day, 2019, while walking on the Isle of Purbeck during the research for my book Ring The Hill, not long before I did a tweet using the photo and this same caption. I imagine it won't have as much impact here, since loads of people have since reused it, and the phrase is now more widely known. It is still very very true, though. Lots of things are solved by walking. Although not everything, obviously.

Solvitur ambulando is my favourite Latin phrase. It means "it is solved by walking".

Such a wonderful opportunity to nurture a significant area for nature, habitat, heritage and a space for humans to breathe πŸ’š

(The large smirk factor is a bonus, but it’s not the main point… πŸ˜‰)

Also, libraries pay for books! Don't apologize if your friend bought a book and lent it to you, either. If you want to own a book, pay for it. But if you're not sure you want to own the book yet or you can't afford the book, borrow it from an owner willing to lend! (Like a library.)

A new one to me - the rare Blue Ground Beetle (Carabus intricatus), native to the UK and found in a handful of sites in England & Wales.

I never got to bounce (πŸ₯²), but I did get to buy myself and appropriate friends bags made from the deflated artwork - forever amusing and a good conversation starter

I tackled just mobile ones, far too easy to click up 100s on there: searches more wide ranging (from academic to who was that actor or where can I buy these thermals) and device always too close at hand 😬

PC ones get cleared most weeks as I do full shutdown regularly for the laptop’s health.

The window drew inspiration from the book 'Cuthbert and the Animals 'by John Mc Manners & the Lindisfarne Gospels. So two otters link to β€œThe Tale of the Affectionate Sea Otters” who were reputed to have warmed and dried Cuthbert's feet after a night of him meditating and praying whilst standing in the sea.
The Celtic knotwork border is influenced by designs in the Lindisfarne Gospels.

Metcheck.com - Accurate Weather Forecasts for United States with Live Data and so much more... Metcheck is the only weather site you will ever need for United States. Highly accurate weather forecasts served with a sense of humour on desktop, mobile and tablet.

I managed to reduce from 486 (🫣) to 150 last week. Progress, but looking for zero + a cache-clear.

Surprising number of repeats, many academic searches/articles (which I enjoyed rediscovering), recipes, places to visit, β€˜what on earth can I buy for so-and-so’s, and lots of www.metcheck.com
