Some times in America we have the exact right President in office to lead in crucial moments (i.e. Lincoln). But at other times we have the exact wrong President in office (i.e. Andrew Johnson). Today we have the worst President in our history in office at a most crucial moment.

Honestly impressed she released a true pop album that competes with Chappell, Billie, & Sabrina today, almost 20 years into her career. Some people just hate.

Folks... I get the temptation to be glad Joe Rogan is speaking out against Trump, but friendly advice: take everything he says with a bucket of salt. He has the ethical commitments of a squirrel on cocaine. I don't think he even knows what he'll support tomorrow or next week. Just keep that in mind.

I’m sure. So incredibly scary. I can’t imagine the horror these people - children - went through. The damage was hard enough to see.

This is life and death.

I’ll never forget what I saw along the banks of the beautiful Guadalupe River. I’m committed to standing with the people of Kerrville, Texas & the entire Hill Country for as long as it takes to help them heal.

This goes beyond party lines. It’s about basic responsibility. If someone failed in their duty to protect lives, they need to be replaced by someone who cares enough to do better.

This isn’t about politics. It’s about leadership - or the lack of it. We already know there were failures. The full picture will come in time & when it does, if any of those failures stemmed from neglect or indifference, we must hold those responsible accountable.

As I reflect on my time in Kerrville & Ingram, I can’t help but wrestle with how this happened so suddenly, with so little warning. I’m angry & heartbroken. Bewildered by how, as a society, we continue to fail at preventing tragedies we know will keep happening & likely worsen.

- many with military or law enforcement backgrounds - who significantly increased our capacity in those crucial early days. Without her help, large sections of the river would have gone without the support they desperately needed.

I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to State Representative Josey Garcia, a sister-in-arms, for her swift & compassionate leadership. Though she doesn’t represent Kerrville, she stepped up without hesitation, coordinating with people on the ground & bringing in volunteers

Daily, first responders, firefighters, EMS teams, veterans & volunteers have done the hardest work imaginable. Scars they now carry from what they’ve seen and experienced will never fully heal. Yet, they know their pain pales in comparison to what families of the victims feel.

I helped crews sift through huge debris piles. Mud, wood, metal, personal items - trying to find remains of anyone, possibly a child, in hopes of bringing closure to a grieving family. Some piles stretched 40+ feet wide/8 ft tall, making work painstaking & emotionally exhausting.
