When I was a kid, it was one of the VHS tapes that was constantly playing at my friend Amanda's house. Raiders and Last Crusade might be better, but Temple of Doom is the one I saw the most.
America putting most of its eggs in the generative AI basket, China going hard into green tech. When history looks back on this period, someone is going to look awfully stupid.

Director Edgar Wright is known for blending action and comedy, but I'd forgotten what a good director of action he is, and The Running Man gives him ample opportunity to demonstrate that. It's less funny than his more acclaimed films, though there's humor in it. Overall: an OK time at the movies!
22.11.2025 13:51 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Went to see "The Running Man," which I mostly enjoyed. The film works well as an action movie, but a little less well, especially in its final 30 minutes or so, as a topical examination of corporate power and how everything - including the reality show The Running Man - is rigged.

We definitely need to watch these films. I wonder if that reaction is a way to mask discomfort material that remains provocotive, bold and thought-provoking.

The fights aren't an afterthought, but they aren't necessarily the main thing, either. But there's plenty of drama in striving to be the best. And the film has a nice message about the importance of fighting oppression and selflessly training others to do the same.
21.11.2025 14:48 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 036th Chamber delivers plenty of visually pleasing, well-choreographed action, set against eye-dropping backdrops. But the film is distinguished by its commitment to showing the discipline required to master kung-fu. This is a movie about hard work and focus.
21.11.2025 14:48 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Watched the kung-fu classic "The 36th Chamber of Shaolin," which brings a somewhat unusual approach to its very basic story about a man, bent on revenge, training for years to master kung fu. Training montages make up most of the film - and are arguably the most entertaining thing about it.

One of my favorite albums ever!
"It is one of popular musicβs most breathtaking quantum leaps forward. Let It Be is an album about life and art becoming realer, more meaningful but also more complicated, and the strange feelings this evolution provokes."
