Doubly crazy because not only is Iran a war of choiceβ€”one that doesn't happen if the 2024 election goes the other wayβ€”but also the reason things got here is Trump chose to renege on the JCPOA in 2018.

This isn't the inevitable march of history. It's the election and foreign policy of one guy.

Trump’s war is already deeply unpopular at the start, and it will only become more so as casualties increase. The president’s callous β€œthat’s the way it is” attitude makes it even worse. And the economic consequences of setting the region on fire will be felt in the coming months.

The response to the withdrawal was bananas, and I think a real consequence will be that no president will ever end a war again

I would say the return of Campbell. But I agree - I think you're right about the bad vibes.

I've only seen 1-4. However, I do have a soft spot for the franchise - I absolutely love the first one. And Neve Campbell! So I might check this new one out at some point.

I'd be more inclined to believe that Graham Platner is merely a dumbass if he was making different kinds of "mistakes" instead of one very specific type of "mistake" over and over

son's hockey tournament. I have reconciled with an old friend I had a falling out with and had nice conversations with friends on their birthdays.

One of my takeaways is that if you're thinking of someone, you should try to act on that - reach out, say hello, reconnect.

Yes, I do observe Lent.

I don't give anything up. Instead, I reach out to an old friend every single day - by email, phone, text or perhaps an in-person visit.

The other night I spoke to a friend I hadn't spoken to since the fall. Yesterday, I saw a friend from high school who was in town for

Trump getting U.S. service members killed in a war the vast majority of Americans oppose is frankly all we should be talking about right now.

At a minimum, it should be treated with the same level of shock, outrage and discourse that the right fomented after Benghazi and the Afghanistan withdrawal.

Feeble Criticism of War With Iran Echoes the Lead-Up to War With Iraq We need to take a firm stand against this reckless and pointless war, not fixate on whether or not it was done the "right way."

"These criticisms (if they even merit that term) are narrow, tactical, and counter-productive. They imagine that a reasonable, justifiable war with Iran exists somewhere in space, waiting to be articulated."

Back in the day, I prepared for the Oscars by watching all the movies nominated for major awards. After my son was born, I abandoned this practice. But this year, I decided to go for it. That's why I ended up going to see Hamnet today instead of, I dunno, "Nirvanna the band the show the movie."

Trekked out today to see Hamnet, which worked better for me as a film about an eccentric couple finding their way in the world than as an important drama about how William Shakespeare. It has moving moments, but also manipulative moments, and as a whole, it left me a little cold.

President Trump's approach to Iran is reckless, the editorial board writes.

"He started this war without explaining to the American people and the world why he was doing so. Nor has he involved Congress, which the Constitution grants the sole power to declare war." nyti.ms/4rLzhbh

I'm already sick of "It's all a distraction from Epstein" replies. This regime is killing innocent people because our leaders are all power-hungry tyrants and war profiteers. When you say it's "just a distraction" you minimize the gravity of what's happening and the lives lost.
