A Halloween bouquet of orange and midnight blue, on our credenza. Bastet balances the display with a lovely bow around her neck.

Had a craving for fall flavor snacks, so I drove over to Modesto for a Trader Joe’s trip. I haven’t been there in quite a while and I really wanted to buy just about everything.

Never Miss Saigonna Give You Up

Cosmo had evaded a trip to the vet on Wednesday, but we got him there on Thursday. He was not happy. He held a grudge for most of that evening, but he seems to have mostly forgiven us.

I need to be more active here, even if I post mundane things. Here’s what’s going on…

Started working one day out of the week up in Elk Grove, to help ameliorate my weekly commute. It was nice to be home before 7:30.

Woo! Show us your blooms!

Newly built Munk’s Hollow, our modest home, on the day it became ours. In the front yard stands a scrawny sapling, surrounded by young plants, barely knee-high.

Munk’s Hollow, today. The sapling is growing into a tall, Chinese Pistache tree. The rose bush, with its Merlot colored blossoms is as tall as a man, and the Privet bush is even bigger.

Today is our four year house-iversay, here at Munk’s Hollow. The front yard has grown wildly, this year and is overdue for some serious pruning, once fall temperatures set in.

Commenter asked if there are any updates on these babies: Friends of Bear Cat Rescue @feederofcats nope, Stamps and Envelope are still sitting here waiting for a special person to come love them. It makes me pretty sad Friends of Bear Cat Rescue @feederofcats deciding to make 2 kittens a double adoption-only case almost guarantees it'll be harder to get them adopted so it's not an easy decision to require that they go together but I really think Envelope would be distraught without Stamps :(

Somebody out there in the #BayArea #SF #SanFrancisco is looking for a bonded pair, brother and sister kittens. These two are exactly them!

I talk to my father a lot, still, even though he’s been gone since December of 2019. I have plenty of time on my lengthy commute, and sometimes it’s as if he’s sitting in the passenger seat. Today was his birthday. I didn’t recall it until I returned home. Funny, he didn’t even bring it up.

The Toyotathon decorations are already up in stores, too.

The Canna Lily on the east corner of our patio, when we first planted it, easily half the height it is today.

The Canna Lily at the west corner of our patio, when we first planted it, just just hinting at the heights it would reach.

Compared to three months ago, the Canna Lily plants seem very content with their place here. The jasmine and the Madagascar Periwinkle (Vinca) also seem to be happy as well.

Bathed in golden, early morning sunlight, the Canna Lily on the east corner of our patio is celebrating with a late season blossom.

The Canna Lily at the west corner of our patio is reaching for every last bit of the summer sunshine.

With the last two weeks of summer approaching, over here at Munk’s Hallow, our Canna Lily is showing off.

This is one happy pup.

I also don’t like the new logo. The old one has character and tells a story. Now, if the LGBTQIA community was the first to complain about the change, claiming the guy was a beloved closeted queer culture character, you know they’d be praising the new logo, instead.

I suspect they see it as being akin to the removal of the mammy imagery from Aunt Jemima pancake products. It is likely being viewed as unwelcome erasure. It isn’t woke, though, except that the word is rapidly evolving into meaning anything they don’t like.
