We investigate Risor ruber, the tusked goby, a tiny sponge-dwelling fish.
Across the Caribbean, we find seven distinct genetic lineages within Risor and discover that two Risor lineages specialize on a single sponge host!

Marissa studies the biodiversity of organisms on Texas #oyster reefs using #eDNA (traces of DNA critters "sluff off" into seawater). π¦ͺπ§π§¬
A princess parrotfish swims over a coral reef with a large Orbicella coral that has several distinctive white parrotfish bite scars on it.
Parrotfishes help maintain resilient reefs by grazing algae & cyanobacteria, but some also eat live coral. πͺΈ
In a new study, we evaluated how parrotfish coral predation intensity varies across gradients in coral cover, diversity, & parrotfish abundance across 4 Caribbean regions:
