it's so weird! sometimes i wonder if it's just misdirected insecurity about their own choices. like you are self aware enough to admit what you just did but i think some people probably feel that way too but can't confront it so they just push people to make themselves feel better/justified about it

yup. and for the ones that do have/want them, there has to be a certain open-mindedness and respect in knowing that even if it is something they want or enjoy having, not everyone is gonna feel the same way as you and that's ok.

(and because i'm sure someone will get mad at this i'm not saying i can't be friends with people who have or want kids—but rather i have no interest in having people in my life who treat those who don't want them like there's something wrong with or immature about them)

when i was in college in a fairly conservative town with a bunch of evangelicals for friends, i used to feel like such the odd one out for not wanting kids; i was constantly told i'd change my mind. and then i did change my mind! on what type of friends i wanted around :)

as someone who works for a small business, i find it very telling that the clients that take in the most money are also the ones that nitpick invoices and constantly try to get work from us for free—because capitalism is not successful without exploitation or oppression.

yeah. i will definitely zone out for a lot of the fringe plots because i just keep losing track of the 27374929147492 different characters who don't really actually change the plot at all. i can't even tell you how many times i've had to google "who is ____" because i cannot keep them all straight

without putting spoilers on the tl, very close to the end—i think i have like 10 or less chapters left. final battle just ended.

even if they think you look ridiculous, who cares? they probably look stupid and boring. beauty is subjective and their opinion is not the general consensus. you're not gonna be for everyone especially if you have dyed hair or tattoos or piercings and that's ok. we don't need to be for them. :)

and then i have to keep going back like "wait wtf", which makes it take EVEN LONGER. i think this series could have been really great as like 5-6 books as the entire same storyline.

i love the plot line but i am ...not a fan of SJM's writing style ngl 🫣 she cannot edit herself and just talks in circles so everything is too repetitive to keep track of. like i get lost in useless details about nothing of importance and then don't catch when something important actually happens
