Crystal Lake Sand Pine Scrub, Plein Air ~ 8x16 Oil/Panel/Palette Knife

It's one of the many sheds found in Dhorpatan Valley. These are built when animals return from highland grazing & are kept for about 1 or 2 months. As winter nears, they are taken down to the lower regions. Sometimes on winter treks, we sleep in sheds like this with our sleeping bags. #travel

The whole Dhorpatan travel was to see sheep, goats & their high-altitude grasslands. But after rain & snow, we had to cancel the high pass. My friend, now married & a father, didn’t want to risk it. 2 years ago we’d faced a snowstorm together on the GCA. This snowstorm killed dozens of trekkers.

Don’t worry! 😊 Phthalic acid is a weak acid. The strong blue in Phthalo Blue comes from the copper ion at the center of the phthalocyanine ring. The copper ion is the role model here! As far as I know, it is great for unpolluted Himalayan skies or glacial lakes.

So cool! Phthalo is a chemistry word. I like that! It’s derived from phthalic acid. I often use it in my organic chemistry class. It’s like your painting & chemistry are having a secret handshake. All the very best! You make great great Flamingos. 🦩

Behind me lies a beautiful village where trekkers like us make an acclimatization hike before heading up to the high pass. I wish I could have these candies, I’d take them to the Himalayas on my next trek to share with the children along the trails. I actually have a tradition of carrying pockets full of candies & bars. This time too, I shared them with the kids along the way & they didn’t leave my side at the teahouse.

If you never tasted a bad apple, you’d never appreciate a good one. Apples from Dhorpatan were so real & organic that after tasting one, we ended up buying a kilo. One quick fact: Remaining Himalayan apples are always stored underground for the winter.
