I don’t understand people’s negativity. JURASSIC WORLD: REBIRTH is a lot of fun, fantastic action, one of the best looking films in the years. No OG characters, minimal homages to the former entries. New people being chased by dinosaurs for a new reason. What else can anyone expect from a 7th film?

NOTE: The same is true for all entertainment unions in the position of having their members work trained on/stolen from. Is the plan to wait and see if Disney win their lawsuit? Is Lionsgate making a deal with Runway going to pay out training residuals to folks involved with their film library?

I feel sad and angry that there are parties with very loud voices that aren't join the fight and using their muscle in any sort of powerful way (if using it at all).

Yet 1) Your union isn't taking a stand against it 2) are allowing actors to take part in short films and commercials made with these companies AI tools that are committing the theft and 3) didn't they have a strike promising AI protections?

SAG/ACTRA ACTORS: Question for you. We mostly all agree that Generative AI companies are committing theft by training on copyrighted material. So, that would mean performances, including facial expressions, voice, etc from union actors are part of said theft.

With all the James Horner love going around - do most people (outside of us film nerds) even realize he co-wrote ‘Somewhere Out There’ from An American Tail’?

Understood. Hadn’t heard the term before. Big fan of getting a few folks together and doing the premium rental!

Only a few weeks to go until the finale of my Dreamcrusher series airs. I’m so sad it has to come to an end. To building something not done before and be given freedom to create was magic. I’ve had the time of my life making my first series as writer/director. I hope it leads to more TV directing.

In-theatre rental? Is that a new think or meaning can rent while still in theatres?

Also - the movie was fantastic.

And a real lot money can cause unhappiness for a real lot of people we’ve learned.

My favourite music video of all time remains Pearl Jam ‘Jeremy’. I think about the master craft of editing that video on film all the time. Technical aside, the visuals are rich and the story bone chilling. Beautiful ‘tell it without showing the obvious’ particularly at the end.

I printed this and hung it on my small town Canadian bedroom wall when I was 16. Turns out there might be something to manifesting.

The concept for Billy Raffoul’s two part music video (HOMEBODY/FOREVER) was to story tell w/ dance. Ch1 a couple moving into together, the space becoming home as they build their life & Ch2 their wedding night, after the guests have left, one last dance before beginning their next chapter.
