Dear President Obama, I saw in your statement you said "Israeli families" & "the people of Gaza." Palestinians have families, too. This kind of language contributes to dehumanization. In 1907, Congress passed a law that American women lost their citizenship if they married a non-citizen. In 1915, the Supreme Court ruled to uphold this act.

It was changed in 1940, but citizenship was not restored to those women, nor their children.
