Cats, politics, long walks in the country. Education, social policy. Woke before it was a problem and currently mystified by government’s lack of courage on EU and other policies including foreign policy.

A current shortage of ethnically matched donors means Black Londoners affected by sickle cell disease are having to go without blood transfusions.
Could you donate blood this month?
Indeed. So much to fear from this organisation. www.thenerdreich.com/joe-lonsdale...

So 9.9% false positive for black women? That is profoundly unsafe if I have read that correctly. How well is this challenged later in the process? Is this used evidentially in court?

29.11.2025 15:40 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0So much wrong with this policy. Families will go into extreme poverty to try and avoid longer pathway. So unfair if previous benefits, lawfully claimed are counted to extend settlement.
29.11.2025 13:48 — 👍 3 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0This puts those families and children at a major economic and social disadvantage. Why? To stop some coming in future? To force them to leave? The UK, where the day after a decision to take half a million children out of poverty, the media & political world has been full of sneering at those same children & their families, labelling them as ‘Benefits Street’, while the same people are moaning about a tax on £2m mansions. Shameful stuff.
