Today's revisionist view of last night's Senate vote: The Sen Dem caucus selected 7.99 "insulated" members to take the heat for the Caucus' consensus position that the media & public will celebrate ending the shutdown, but the stain/blame will remain with Trump/MAGA. Burden of going forward --->

The basic rule in Washington conflict USED TO BE "...if you've got them by the Balls, DO NOT LET GO TO GET A 'BETTER GRIP' !!!" Trump's absurd deflections since Election Night have multiplied to panic levels: Filibuster, Obama, Trump's Elysian Field...now it's "why wait til Election Day to loose?"

These complicit big firm equity partners have little to distinguish themselves from Trumps tech bros billionaires. Except if they paid any attention in Con Law they should know better than being complicit with a POTUS attempting to divert our democracy into the trash bin.

Palantir CEO should have taken a bit more U.S. History in school. Learned about origins of our Civil Liberties guaranteed by our Constitution. Protected by millions of servicemen/women who fought, bled and sometimes died to protect those freedoms. We must do both things: protect CL & defeat China.

I find her likely departure long overdue-decent but curiously lacking in judgement with a politician's self-serving timing frequently eclipsing any good judgement for the people of Maine. With Janet's entry into the race Collins may decide to end her Senate career voluntarily and not even run.

Finally removing Susan Collins from the senate will be a terrific accomplishment. Knowing Collins as I have since her time as a staffer in SenBill Cohen's office in the 1980s,

I suspect this news is hot enough that she will be on one or more Sunday shows. As my classmate in law school I have been a career-long supporter of her public service and celebrate her decision.
