Thanks Capitalism for all my money but really cheeky that you expect me to respond to any Slack messages when I have jeans to make.

A sewing diary of my journey to a mostly-me-made wardrobe. Still working out if it’s worthwhile/possible to copy over all my insta posts to this new app.

22.01.2025 17:50 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Hello I love this! I’m considering learning to quilt. I’m an intermediate level garment sewist but quoting scares me!
22.01.2025 17:35 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0I thought about that but it’s so niche over there be design. I get a lot of inspo and chatting from the OTD outfit pals and not just the sewists.
22.01.2025 00:24 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Will take a lot of getting used to when switching to this app from insta for creatives. Not enough characters for detailed fit notes for sewing patterns. I added them to alt text but that’s not really an appropriate spot for them. What’s everyone else doing? Is anyone doing that yet?

Medium build dark haired woman in black handmade jumpsuit and yellow and black sneakers. Facing the camera, she has her left hand in her hair. When cutting the pattern, I raised the waist by removing 0.5” from the top and adding 0.5” to the top of the bottoms. Next time I would add 1” to the bottoms, lengthening the rise a tad because the crotch is a bit close on my coochie.
Medium build dark haired woman in black handmade jumpsuit turning to the camera to give a thumbs up with left hand. I added #jennashirt sleeve tower plackets and added that into these sleeves.
Medium build dark haired woman in black handmade jumpsuit and yellow and black sneakers. Head is not in the photo. I added plastic snaps in orange and yellow from my stash. I was worried they might look a bit cheap but they do not! I added these because I use the #jennashirt sleeve tower plackets and added that into these sleeves. I thought it was weird that this pattern didn’t have those as a feature since sleeves are so often rolled up on this type of garment.

Fabric: pretty cheap cotton twill from @fabricville as it was intended to be a wearable toile and that’s exactly what it is.
Size 12 top, graded to a 14 for the bottom. Reduced outer leg seam to just 3/8.
VERY happy with this. 🤩
