As EPCC's Nathan Mannall writes, #ISC25 provided opportunities to learn about the latest developments in the field, connect with others working on similar challenges, and see where the industry is heading.

Agreed, although it does highlight pricing "issues" if the underlying amount of storage isn't changing but the access mechanism is changing. Feels like price gouging for functionality, I don't imagine the AWS "lustre" is adding much in terms of access hardware.

Joking aside though, the ability to separate storage and access semantics/approaches is very cool

Nice, although on prem you can just keep the Lustre filesystem, you don't need to destroy anything ๐

It makes sense if, say, you've got 2 identical systems in your data centre and you want both on the list. Don't need to benchmark them both. However, I think it's a bit dubious going across sites/different sized systems, and at the top end of the list. The system is also meant to be ready on submit.

Nice work from U Bologna: Tenstorrent has a good, if a bit complicated, story around efficiency (performance and perf/watt. Whatโs not shown in these slides is the massive price difference. At $699, I kinda want to buy one of these accelerators to mess with.
