I really wanted console style controls for Diablo ever since playing Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance.

Photorealism has always been a misguided goal, whether it be in animation, AI, or video games. Post-16bit gaming's shift to polygonal graphics was always about getting to photorealism. And sure, there are plenty of games that don't attempt realism (Katamari! Okami!), but that's the prevailing style.

First pass on the UI, trying to keep it as simple as possible for when we add the gazzilion enemies on screen lol.
