What I have noticed that decrease in their work ethics .
Not realising importance of hard work. Students now a days do come with lack of fundamental knowledge of maths and then struggle in A level
But very few with good work ethics gives me hope …

Is there any A level marking CPD which I can advise to my colleagues? Or any one has done any in house moderation cpd ?

That was our biggest problem,we have sample one but it took too much time , and many teachers then stopped bothering saying that it’s too much to handle as they don’t know how to file πŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

I do recap of few topics after that we do lot of papers from maths emporium, I choose few questions to do in class over two lessons and they can finish of at home. I print MS for each table and then we compare it to see how many marks they got . One student might go through the questions if needed

KS5 teachers how are we managing exercise books? Do you give booklet for each chapter or student write in books? Or folders ? How do you manage ?

Agree , when I tried showing them using graphs I got ohhh moment and they understood what they are looking for but still algebraic way they found it complicated

I used NumsWorks calculator emulator today to plot polar curve.
Students downloaded app in the phone and used it Parellel.
I felt it’s easy to use then Casio graphics one
