I'm reposting our new theory paper on qualia and symmetry. We used the concept of principal bundles to break down different aspects of qualia. I believe this should also provide a formal explanation of why vision feels like vision, whereas audition feels like audition.

Also our results may shed a new light as to the structural differences between visual versus auditory qualia, as the visual and auditory networks are clearly separable in the embedding, meta-representation space.
