Something that's been just as annoying is how people on the left immediately shut this line of inquiry down following the election. I think the whole 'we have to be better' is suicidal in certain contexts and this is one.

I am once again begging people to realize that the law is words on paper and is not self executing.

"That's illegal" is not and has never been synonymous with "that's impossible" or "that can't be done."

"That's illegal" means "you might get in trouble for that depending on who you are."

Literally the only problem with UBI is that its very susceptible to causing inflation in an economy that refuses to regulate monopolies and rent seeking behavior. In a healthy economy, it's a great program.

It's such an infuriating thing to hear. Taking pride in what you do is not the same as enjoying what you do. But it makes sense that Trump believes whatever its most convenient for him to believe to fuck people over.
