With AI art everywhere, almost nothing in art is viewed as ‘cheating’ anymore if it’s not ai art or tracing other people’s art and claiming it as your own.

Reference? It’s ok. Using 3D or photographs? Go for it. Mixing media? Cool. Somewhat of a silver lining. Those random rules stunted artists.

The A.I. art explosion has not made me stop wanting to master visual arts at all but it has made me dream less about working in the animation/gaming industry. I feel like I missed that train forever. I feel like even if I’m ever good enough, there will be so few jobs that it won’t matter.

It’s crazy how much better the algorithm is on bsky compared to insta. I get more engagement here with 11 followers than I do there with 450.

I prefer line based drawings but painting is so much easier to me. You just vibe until it’s done, line art is much more technical.
