So excited to share that I am officially a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at James Cook University ✨

Excited for the next few years, working across several exciting projects, not just 🐸, but 🪰🦐🐨🐠🐕🪸🦪 in the Animal Genomics & Breeding Laboratory!

And just like that, I am #PhDone 🥳

Couldn’t be prouder, happier or more tired. So much to be said, but for now we celebrate and we sleep 💃🍸😴

And not only did we find a range of phenotypic variation across the species, from susceptible
➡️ tolerant ➡️ resistant.

But we also found significant differences in outcomes and influences between repeated experimental exposures in this Critically Endangered #frog 🐸

This frog species (Atelopus ignescens) was abundant before 1985, but its population dramatically shrunk until it went EXTINCT in 1988. The extinction factor has been a mystery. Luckily, this species was rediscovered by a schoolboy around 30 years ago. #FROG #Biodiversity #amphibian

This ‘toe wiggling’ behaviour is called pedal luring and has been observed in several amphibians using vibrations and movement to attract small insects to come closer to them be gobbled up!

It’s #frogfriday so bringing back my absolute favourite facts about corroboree frogs… and it’s that they wiggle their toes to attract their food! 🤤🦗🐸
