11.08.2025 17:51 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It was a real privilege spending some time with Vik at Fab25, and I'm excited to see how far his RepRapMicron can go!

There are some jobs with @freecad.org available! If you're interested in helping a really important piece of open-source software - and being compensated for it - you should check it out.

Oh man, I've been wanting to make something like this from a microcontroller. This is great!
01.08.2025 09:36 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0@discordian.ca hey buddy, been a long time! I've poked around for a profile of yours every once in a while over the years and now I'm shocked I didn't find one sooner. Uncanny how well our interests still align.
Shoot me a dm β let's reconnect.
Pretty incredible timing from @plante.bsky.social to have done an episode all about porn games in late May. If you're wondering what all the payment processors fuss is about, it might help contextualize that side of the industry a bit.

Very much this. I thought my experience with this lack of expertise from the top was just due to working for a smaller publication. Frustrating to hear that much larger outlets face the same problem.
22.07.2025 05:36 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Small cosplay creator @galacticarmory.net was hit with a C&D by Games Workshop last week for selling its Warhammer 40K helmet STLs. A comment in my coverage points out the first official 40K helmet released a couple days later.
There's really no room for licenses?

Huge fan of the way @linusmediagroup.com is using its platform to defend small outlets. This video is great.

@wekster.bsky.social saw your Printables profile on the WAN show! Love it.

Since last week, Bambu Lab's budget A- and P-series 3D printers have been under the company's new "Authorization Control", breaking third-party communication without "Developer Mode".

Where can I find your protest coverage?
09.06.2025 07:50 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0What a lovely feel-good story about Redditors helping someone new to 3D printing save their 20-hour print after a power outage. Love to see it.

I'm going to be very interested in how they rate the Switch 2.
03.06.2025 15:55 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Here's my coverage of the SV08 Max Kickstarter campaign. I'm going to have to update it after fielding some questions to Sovol: all3dp.com/4/sovol-is-k...
03.06.2025 14:55 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I'm pretty reserved when it comes to calling content AI-generated, but Sovol's blog articles are so transparent. It gets its own price wrong and calls the Sovol SV08 Max cheaper than the K1 Max when it's at least $100 more expensive.
Read All3DP instead. We don't generate articles.
Steve is awesome, has awesome builds, and knows his Vorons. I'm going to be interested in his thoughts on this.

I'm excited that multiple manufacturers are pushing for an open RFID standard for filament changers, I'm just stuck on wondering how they'll handle proprietary tags

I see a lot of US-only positions from you folks, is it a timezone thing or a tax thing? Would hiring from Canada ever be in the cards?
23.05.2025 11:04 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0A 3D printing niche, HueForge "filament painting", has made the relatively obscure material quality of transmission distance really quite important.
Now, Ajax 3D's TD sensor will finally be mass-produced by Biqu.

Despite immune therapy for my seasonal allergies, I'm still getting walloped with pollen assault the last couple days. Got the anti-histamine loopys just to cope!
22.05.2025 09:53 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I first saw Old Man's War on a nurse's desk, remembered it when I saw it in a used bookstore and picked it up. Loved it. Saw you used again with Red Shirts, thought it was hilarious. Then bought a Scalzi ebook collection and proceeded to recommend you to a bunch of people.
Used books are great.
Brands don't seem to realize that the "fake sale" strategy stops consumer journalists like me from mentioning their sales.
If I have to double-check that your "sale" is actually a new price, I'm just not going to bother telling our audience about it.
I know you as an author, and think I must have mentioned you or something to prompt your appearance in the reccos.
