The idea of social illness does not negate that they’re just people. Because unlike mental illness, social illness does not have any inborn component. It removes that separation and does not conflict with the “just people” argument.

Do you think mentally ill people aren’t just people? When we stopped categorizing people who do evil as evil, people started calling it mental illness. People not going to stop categorizing behavior. I’d prefer they do it in a way that doesn’t harm vulnerable people.

We need a concept of social illness (such as collective narcissism) separate from mental illness. Because if Nazis and bulemics are in the same category, we have a category problem.

If your moral framework is “might makes right,” supporting bullies makes complete sense. Better that the untermenschen learn their place early.
