Clifton is a rescue pup from the Humane Society of Huron Valley and was featured in the calendar that I photographed for the HSHV.

And those crossed paws get me every time. My Bentley used to sit like that once in a while, and it always made him look so regal and composed, like a canine King (or Queen). 💛

I’ve photographed these two four times now. Being invited back through different seasons of their lives is something I never take lightly.

Love stories with dogs will always be my favorite kind.♥️

This image is extra special to me because it’s the one that lives on my phone screen. My ♥️ dog, Bentley. He crossed the rainbow bridge a few years ago, but he's still with me every day.

Her two dog-brothers were wrestling, and she was standing by in full border collie mode, ready to step in if things got out of hand. Because someone has to be in charge. 😄

I always ask if your pup knows any tricks before a session, not because I need perfect behavior (I don’t), but because sometimes it’s fun to let them show off a little. 🐾

Skills are optional. Personality is not.
And this pup nailed both. 💥

What’s your dog’s signature trick?

What food sound brings your pup running?

Violet's is just about anything, but her super power is being able to hear a banana being peeled, even if she's asleep in a different room.  🍌

You can’t pose this kind of sweetness....you just catch it. ❄️💛

He’s her everything. Her first baby. And even with another pomsky now sharing the spotlight, that first-heart bond never changes.

Some love stories are written in nose boops and tip-toe kisses.

Winter magic in full display. ❄️🐾

This was near the lighthouse in Charlevoix, where winter likes to show off a little. While some people head somewhere warm this time of year, we tend to go colder instead. 😄

I never force moments like this, but when a pup is happy, relaxed, and leaning in, it becomes one of the sweetest images to preserve. 💛🐾

It's definitely one of my favorites, but your pup's comfort always comes first.

This right here is why I keep my finger ready on the shutter.
Because the perfect moment is usually a fraction of a second and a whole lot of personality. ❄️😄

There are moments that make your heart ache. Not because they’re sad, but because they’re so full of love it almost hurts.

I can’t quite put it all into words.  Thankfully, I don’t have to, this image says everything. 💛🐾

Today is Nationwide Shutdown Day, a pause meant to step back from work and spending. It’s also meant to be an act of solidarity, a reminder of the impact we can have as individuals when we choose to move together.

Winter, but make it extra floofy❄️🐾

Did you know that snowpants will eventually soak through when you’ve been laying in the snow for a while?  Ask me how I know🤣

Also, worth it. 😄

This award-winning Arctic fox image was recognized by the International Society of Animal Photographers, and I still can’t get over how stunning this little fox is. 🤍❄️ I’ll be sharing snow favorites this week, then switching to flowers next week. 🌸
