I saw an incredible one-woman play years ago about a fighter pilot who is grounded while pregnant and becomes one of the early era drone pilots and it was literally about this, her slow shift away from seeing the people she drops bombs on as human from her cushy chair and big screen an ocean away

At this point I'm convinced some people genuinely believe wars are fought like video games and the human beings whose lives are being snuffed out for no reason are just mindless NPCs, and I hate it.

I’m not a huge fan of the Gen 9 starters, but Fuecoco incredibly cute and Skeledirge is incredibly cool (never mind the awkward middle stage)

Still, they were just *slightly* too fancy / high-concept all around. Interested to see if there’s a course-correction for Gen 10.

But remember how I skipped MMPR Shredder? Wave 2 has a Shredder/Mechagodzilla! So I can get that in there without repeating any characters.

So I’m on the lookout for a compatible MMPR/Zyu set that won’t cost a fortune, but the good news is that using my SHMAs of Godzilla etc in the back of the shelf would make Dragonzord feel less essential.

So whither TMNTxGodzilla? Well to tell the truth I missed Wave 1 and I’m not that sad about it.

That’s a whole different team of characters so it’s legit. So we got Raphael with the Tyrannosaurus powers, and Jason with the Rodan powers. Easy.

Sadly, my display centerpiece was SoC Megazord + Dragonzord, and somehow just from shelf wear Dragonzord’s arm broke off. Not loving that.

So, with the Kaiju Rangers dropping in a few days and wave 2 of TMNTxGodzilla dropping at some point, I have to do some Display Planning.

I have all of the TMNTxMMPR crossover figures except Shredder.

I want to get at least the 1st 3 Kaiju Rangers, and maybe all of them. But good news!

We are At War now, according to President Bush, and I take him at his word. He also says this War might last for "a very long time." Generals and military scholars will tell you that eight or 10 years is actually not such a long time in the span of human history - which is no doubt true - but history also tells us that 10 years of martial law and a wartime economy are going to feel like a Lifetime to people who are in their twenties today. *there was an earnest but mistimed attempt to formally declare war on the USA *just* before the bombs fell on Pearl. You can decide for yourself if that makes anything better. If anything it makes the modern US doctrine feel even worse by comparison.

When you think about the rationale for US sanctions on Imperial Japan (terror bombing China from the air) and then the righteous US response to the Japanese surprise attack* on Pearl Harbor, the moral degradation of the USA is galling and undeniable.
