this feels like a guy who's making a '''''clever''''' Douglas Adams reference when the real Adams would literally microwave him to death with a single joke

Itβs brilliant because instead of staking out a position on Greedo, it muses what happened to Greedo NOT EVEN MATTER when it comes to defining Hanβs personality.

She was screaming into a megaphone that she and her party had no fixed values and everyone I know *still* voted for her. What more do you want from us.

my theory of the Harris campaign, which makes exactly nobody happy:
1. she was put in an incredibly deep and arguably insurmountable hole by Biden
2. she made significant errors, largely in not separating herself from him enough
3. her results were still in the upper range of plausible outcomes
the plot of having to bring out Megatron to keep up with him is so instantly compelling (even if it's not exactly flattering to the Autobots!)

and it's ALL on the guest stars to show the emotion because the 1701 crew knows what's up from the jump

I was at the Houston natural history museum the other day and you see dinosaurs in one room then turn a corner and see the mammoths and the part of my brain that knows that fact was screaming at the rest of it
Real lesson is that the prehistory / history barrier is different in different placesβ¦
The one that breaks me is that the pyramids were built before the mammoth became extinct

It is funny how extragalactic stuff pops up in TOS regularly but not the other shows. Hell, when the Barrier shows up in DIS it seems to be *shored up* and no one has pierced it in centuries.

βOnly a fool fights in a burning house!β is a great resolution, and you can see Kirk try the same logic later on Kruge only for it to bounce off.
Funny thing, Kruge is no oneβs fool, but heβs genuinely convinced that the Feds are gonna kill EVERYONE with Genesis. 1980s Cold War, not 1960s Cold War.

Another layer to this was they were all *supposed* to be Kor, but when Colicos was unavailable they just gave him a different name and had Kirk act like he knew him anyway.
Which might be why in DS9 Kor is also treated as a cruiser commander, when we only saw him as a military governor?
