That parking lot looks familiar
05.02.2026 06:50 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0btw I was very involved in this crown hill 10 years ago. The city promised a bunch of plans to appease neighbors who didnβt want an upzone. The upzone was a major success, the public plans were not. Caused substantial amount of distrust with the nimby crowd.
25.01.2026 19:55 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0That corner is grim. All buildings face away from the street and it's close to large surface parking lots. The city would need to partner with private builders to completely reconstruct the commercial experience.
25.01.2026 18:58 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0This tiny block on Phinney is blocked off yearly for the Glocone lighting, and heavily used by pedestrians to access the Friday summertime market. Would be such an easy project to square it off into a pedestrian street.
25.01.2026 18:51 β π 13 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0a protected intersection would be better than a curb bulbs here.
21.01.2026 19:33 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It's a major shame the ship canal water quality project did not rethink the areas it closed down for several years.
13.01.2026 06:05 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The "even better bike lane" on union between 14th & MLK, on the other hand, is a marked improvement because it's relocating the path. I just hate that several miles of toronto barriers are being used up for performative metrics on bike lanes that were already pretty good.
07.01.2026 04:15 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 1@seattledot.bsky.social is about to make an equally costly and unnecessary enhancement to Gilman Ave W, which is a already a safe ride. Lack of political will to fix the real problems funnels the infrastructure money into places that don't need it.

05.01.2026 20:01 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Put them on the street to daylight the intersections.
20.12.2025 02:57 β π 7 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Over half the parents in my daycare in Seattle use cargo bike to take kids in.
Iβm in hilly, rainy Seattle.
This bike lane is difficult to get to and has rarely been a useful route for me. It feeds into the carbrain theory of empty bike lanes.
14.09.2025 20:51 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Isn't this the point of the plan? To add the facilities when the repaving occurs?
28.08.2025 03:18 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Maybe blame design review instead? The building exploded, a new building was proposed, and funding fell through.
07.08.2025 23:56 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I legally setup a play street and someone called the cops on me for blocking traffic. I live on an infamously bad cut through street in Phinney ridge (73rd). What should I have done?
05.08.2025 04:39 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Can I install a bike rack here?
24.07.2025 16:55 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0One of your best projects!
24.07.2025 16:54 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The free bus zone in downtown Seattle was unfortunately gross. Iβm all about subsidizing transit but we get very different between outcome between $2.75, $1 and free. Iβm in the $1 camp.
29.06.2025 21:04 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Every time I see SDOT rebuilding a curb ramp due to the Reynoldson v. City of Seattle lawsuit, I wonder if the law would accept a continuous sidewalk or curb bulb. It seems some demolition costs could be avoided.
21.04.2025 05:06 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Some street's in my neighborhood are now more dangerous due to SDOT recently adding no parking signs along the full length of the street. I'm pretty sure it's due to the fire station's complaints. N 73rd near Phinney is a good example.
25.03.2025 17:29 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Similar to the N 130th infill station, I'm concerned by adding more stops that make lightrail slower than it already is.
