AIRES: No matter how many times you obsessively proofread it, a badly placed typo will mean everyone just laughs hysterically and ignores your serious pubic service announcement.

Our Dave is 90 years young today so we had cake. And we attempted to ring 90th Birthday Treble Place Minor. We did ring a 90 change touch of G5 and lots of rounds in between cake breaks. We finished with a course of Stedman 7 thanks to a visitor. Happy Birthday Dave #bellringing

The video clip is from the peal, a stately sounding set of bells. You should be able to hear the 6 louder then 6 muffled notes, creating a call and response effect that is quite haunting.

National war memorial bell-playing job axed, likely to be outsourced to Australia An Australian may have to play the bells at Pukeahu on Anzac Day.

Let me get this straight, we don't even let the locals who volunteer to play, but will fly someone over?

I mean, on that basis, why employ our own nazis when we can share with australia? Get rid of the idiot trio and we could save well over 1m a year!

I know we ought to be improving the impression that ringing spaces make, but I also love the "land that time forgot" feel of so many belfries and ringing chambers

Nearly lost a quarter today because of a squirrel scampering around the ringing chamber. 😬 That was a first for me. πŸ””

This is the Ripon Cabmen's Shelter, a historic structure located in the Market Place of Ripon, North Yorkshire, England.
The prefabricated wooden building was completed in 1911 by Boulton and Paul. It was funded by Sarah Carter at a cost of Β£200. The shelter was used by drivers of horse-drawn cabs as a rest stop while waiting for fares.

Two images of the cabman's shelter taken on my May 2024 visit to Ripon. Dating from 1911 it was supplied by Boulton and Paul who also supplied the huts for Captain Scott's expedition. It was used by drivers of horse-drawn cabs who were waiting for fares. The company's origins 1/2
