We’re kind of achieving this RL with the mainstreaming of anime. You’ve got cool celebs like Michael B. Jordan and Megan thee Stallion, plus basically all of Gen Z. It’s been normalized. I want this for other genres!

Been trying to think of fictional characters like this, and the best I can come up with is Ben Wyatt? He wears his love of GoT and Batman on his sleeve but he’s still a (relatively) normal guy.

We need more representation for people who love science fiction and fantasy and other traditionally “nerdy” shit but aren’t like Big Bang Theory or Ready Player One style maladjusted man babies about it. People who have other interests, too! People who can function in polite society! We exist!!!
