I guess what I'm saying is that if you think the US is the Great Satan and both parties are warmongering imperialists and the concept of law is a web of lies spun by the wealthy and powerful to entrap the proletariat, then why exactly are we arguing about the wording of Democratic press releases?

Seattle is americas most horny-polarized city, it’s buttoned down for 90% of the population and a den of sin for the remaining 10

In 2015, reports surfaced that Danae Stratou, an artist and wife of former Greek Finance Minister Yanis Varoufakis, inspired Pulp's 1995 hit "Common People". She matched the song's lyrics as a wealthy Greek student studying sculpture at St. Martin's College in the late 1980s, where she met Jarvis

Also his wife was the inspiration for by far Pulp’s greatest song

Me: And so in β€œQueering Mario,β€œ I argue that as Super Mario Brothers 2 (USA) was just a dream but Birdo was later shown to exist in the real world in Mario Tennis, suggesting that Mario physically manifested a tulpa of his repressed transsexualism.

Audience Guy: What does this mean?

Me: Idk lol.

Blue states have the strongest trans protections in the country! Congressional Dems have reliably stood firm against federal anti-trans legislation, even the PA Ogre! The House Dem minority got anti-trans amendments stripped last month!

What the fuck reality do these people inhabit???

Thing about generalizing to cis people is that cis people are around 99% of the population and thus round cleanly to "people". Unless you're talking about cisness itself you're just generalizing about people.

Womb transplants are one of the clearest examples I can think of!

If, in the future, anyone can get a womb installed than patriarchy is dead, you can no longer argue womens place is to be mothers and thus can no longer argue they should be excluded from being anything else

Its obvious who loses, the right! The more freedom we have to change our circumstances (socially, economically and biologically), the more it undermines the order they wish to uphold.

As @sjshancoxli.liberalcurrents.com said, feminism is transhumanism is modernity!

Class is the operative word, because I suspect they don’t hate trans people so much as the idea anyone should be allowed to change the circumstances of their birth

I’m sure they privately hate (eg) people who attend elite schools on scholarship too, it’s just less acceptable to say

Re Heated Rivalry

There’s probably a certain amount of hit dog hollering in queer people getting upset a common flavor of queer relationship can repackaged and sold to a hetero audience as ersatz heterosexuality

Elite transphobia is partly rooted in the belief no one should be allowed to strive for anything they weren’t born with post skeet

Alysa Liu telling 60 Minutes β€œI love struggling, it makes me feel alive” is a legit revolutionary statement from a Bay Area native in a time when copious amounts of time and resources are being put toward convincing us to opt out of experiencing struggle, friction and self-actualization

Effects of gender-affirming hormone therapy on gray matter density, microstructure and monoamine oxidase A levels in transgender subjects MAO-A catalyzes the oxidative degradation of monoamines and is thus implicated in sex-specific neuroplastic processes that influence gray matter (GM) …

You shouldn’t read TOO much into this but it’s extremely well documented at this point that theres such a thing as male and female brains and you can change the one you have with HRT

It was stupid and dangerous to cede the idea of bio gender to the right

Being an unusually tall or muscular trans lesbian is weird because all the other trans lesbians expect you to take on a masculine role that makes them feel smol and feminine by comparison regardless of how femme you actually are

I can pick you up, but do I have to?

In other words, the backsliding is real and serious. This is perhaps the most unfavorable that the public has been toward trans rights in quite some time. Republicans have successfully and effectively exploited several flashpoint issues, like sports, in order to shift public opinion in their direction, while progressives have been unable to effectively muster persuasive arguments.
Some of this may be down to an unwillingness to even entertain a debate, in an unsuccessful effort to maintain a unified front. Progressive activists and organizations have often been confrontational when challenged with dissenting views, leading critics to claim that these tactics left little room for actual debate. The net result, however, is the worst-case scenario for progressives and trans individuals alike, as a previously sympathetic public’s support of trans rights has completely unraveled over the last decade.

The anti-trans side made bomb threats to children's hospitals. They spent a billion dollars messaging this over the last 7 years while the Dems mostly stayed silent or ducked away. But somehow, they always seem to blame trans people for their own persecution.

Believe it or not, I am sympathetic to supportive of the argument for β€œthreaten to blow it all up and take the cis down with us if trans right are abandoned.β€œ But I also think not keeping our powder dry until it’s needed dilutes the threat. Canβ€˜t negotiate if you already shot the hostage.
