In terms of pure tactics, that's why people who want change should put as much focus as possible into primarying Jefferies and making Schumer so miserable that he retires. Probably a few others too. That's who needs to suffer the consequences, and removing them also helps stop the undermining.

There's no "we". Every person makes an individual choice. That's why it's a lot easier to try and get politicians to change, or ideally to change the politicians. But yes, people need to be convinced to vote more, but if they are offered the same candidates, why would they suddenly choose to vote?

More people should vote in the primaries, but leadership has to stop constantly trying to undermine any candidates to the left of the Clintons, so that people will think it's worth voting in the primaries. It has to work in both directions.

It would help if most Democratic politicians supported abolishing ICE, ending support for Israel, and trans rights, to name big issues that leftists care about beyond economics. And all of these ideas are broadly popular, too. Dems will never win over hardcore doctrinal Marxists, but those are rare.
