I worked in a shop in Sheffield, edge of the city centre, we’d sometimes go to a pub for after work & that was a neutral venue for the women working nearby. They’d meet before going out or come in for a break & it was understood & respected that they were having a breather. Very good at pool.

My uncle ran a pub in Llanelli, The Half Moon, tidy pub no real trouble but he would sometimes chase someone out and then quietly explain t hey we’re there on business he didn’t want. Happens everywhere…
