We are now on our Winter Season hours and the museum will be open from 9.30 until 5pm, 7 days a week. We will welcome our last visitors into the building at 4.30pm each day.

The only planned closures during these months will be Christmas Day and Boxing Day.

At the museum, we remember, 'The Forgotten War' and the men who served with the 1st Bn in Korea.
75 years ago today, the Battle of Hill 282 took place - a notable event in Argyll history.

New Haddington council homes to be built - thanks to 85-year-old bequest Solicitor John Richardson left money to fund six new homes in Haddington when he died in 1940.

Wowser… check out this bad boy, a residual quartz core from our Pictish fort…. Perhaps 4000 years between them! Quartz as a lithic is ghastly and tends to be missed by Scottish archaeologists…. Our digs lead Scotland in terms of its recovery!

And don't businesses also benefit from lower electricity bills? Would our public services, schools, hospitals, councils etc all have lower bills too? Wouldn't our largely electric buses and trains be cheaper to run? This should be the fight we - and Scotgov -pick with Westminster.
